Stone spear points belonging to the Clovis industry which is associated with early modern humans (Homo sapiens) in North America between roughly 13,500-13,000 years ago. The so-called 'Clovis point' has a distinctively fluted shape (the thin groove at the base of the points) which appears to have made it stronger. These points reside at the Field Museum in Chicago but were on loan at the Australian Museum in Sydney in December 2017 when this picture was taken.
