Fresco depicting two Lares (protective deities, sons of the god Mercury) pouring wine from a drinking horn (rhyton) into a bucket (situla). They stand on either side of a scene of sacrifice. The head of the family makes offerings, a musician plays while two smaller figures bring items for sacrifice, including a pig. In the panel underneath, a pair of serpents, bringers of good fortune, prosperity and abundance, are standing on either side of the altar. From Pompeii. Now in the Naples Archaeological Museum.
