This is a panel from a Roman mosaic pavement. Dionysos is shown dancing while a panther prances along beside him. Dionysos' red drape billows out and he wears a wreath. The mosaic has the name 'Dionysos' written in Greek beside him. The mosaic panel is 1.4m heigh, and 1.36m wide. The panel comes from a villa at Halicarnassus, and dates to the 4th century CE. (BM 1857,1220.414: British Museum, London).
