A medieval illustration of the Battle of Tewkesbury, 4 May 1471 CE. In this battle of the Wars of the Roses, Yorkist forces loyal to Edward IV of England (r. 1461-1470 CE & 1471-1483 CE) defeated a Lancastrian army. After the battle, Prince Edward, the only heir of Henry VI of England (1422-1461 CE & 1470-1471 CE) was killed. (From the 15th century CE Ghent manuscript)
