This is one of a pair of colossal lamassus from the Palace of Sargon II at Khorsabad (in modern-day Nineveh Governorate, Iraq). Both of them are on display at the Assyrian Gallery of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad. During the ransacking of the Iraq Museum in April 2003 CE, those lamassus were intact and safe and had not been vandalized. Reign of Sargon II, 722-705 BCE. Two young females, wearing a medical outfit and a white coat are taking selfies before the lamassu.
