The focus of this book is fifty-four black and white vector drawings of ancient Maya women's huipiles or tunics. The designs were adapted from sculpted and painted images from the Classic period and are reproduced in full-page format so that their patterns can be appreciated. An introductory essay discusses the religious and economic importance of these garments, as well as the significance of their decorative motifs.
