Here is the first overview of current archeological knowledge of ancient Shetland, from Mesolithic times to the Viking/Norse period: a period of 8,000 years. It investigates death and ritual in the Neolithic era; domestic life in the Bronze Age; unsettled times in the Iron Age; and the lifestyles of both the Picts and Christians.
