This prehistoric Native American mound site overlooks the Mississippi River in what was once Chickasaw Territory. It was a complex settlement of houses and mounds surrounding a central plaza. Today a museum here displays pottery and primitive tools made of stone, bone and shell. The earthen mounds are ceremonial burial sites.
