Joshua Hinson is an artist and Director of the Department of Chickasaw Language in the Division of History and Culture for the Chickasaw Nation. Originally from West Texas, Joshua's interest in his family's Chickasaw heritage increased after the birth of his son. He received his master's degree in Native American Art History from the University of New Mexico, and is currently working towards his doctorate degree in Native Language Revitalization from the University of Oklahoma.
